The Law Offices of George Holton Yates, P.C. is seeking a skilled and dependable Paralegal to support our criminal defense practice. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with an experienced criminal defense attorney who is committed to protecting the rights of individuals facing serious legal challenges.
We are looking for a highly organized professional who can manage case files, communicate effectively with clients, and help ensure every case receives the attention and preparation it deserves.
Responsibilities
The Criminal Defense Paralegal will assist with:
- Managing criminal case files from intake through resolution
- Drafting legal correspondence, motions, and other case-related documents
- Reviewing discovery materials and organizing evidence
- Communicating with clients, courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies
- Scheduling court appearances, meetings, and deadlines
- Obtaining records, reports, and supporting documentation
- Assisting with trial preparation, witness coordination, and exhibit organization
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior paralegal experience, preferably in criminal defense or litigation
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- The ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
- Professionalism when working with clients facing difficult circumstances
- Experience with legal research and document preparation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
Paralegal certification is preferred but not required. Relevant experience in criminal defense, litigation support, or legal administration will be strongly considered.
